Beloved hoodies made new - Mended & Adorned
I see mending as an act of respect and care for each other, for the garments and textiles that comfort and clothe us, and for the planet. Starting with my own well-loved sweaters and hoodies that no longer fit but have many years of service left, I am darning moth holes and sewing up ripped underarms, patching damage caused by washing machines, and adding special adornments beyond what is needed so that these may find a special place in your heart as well as your closet. Standard shipping within the US is included in the pricing.
Currently, I have a limited range of items as I work through my own well-loved clothing, but please check back as I expand this area of my work, as I intend to provide a wider range of sizes and styles in the future.
Pink Mountains Hoodie (Unisex Small/Medium)
labeled 99% cotton, 1% other fiber (this is the tiny nubbly texture woven into the black fabric)
This is a basic cotton hoodie I've loved for years, with a solid zipper, white cotton cord to adjust the hood, and my own adornments of black-and-white spotted patches with pink plaid triangles adorning and strengthening the repairs. I used a hot pink thread to stitch the patches, and added whimsical dashed lines and curves to bring joy and energy to a mass-produced textile. The fabric does stretch lightly and is labeled a masc small, but based on measurements I took it should accommodate about a 40"-44" chest, 40"-42" waist, 13" biceps/10" wrist. This depends on your fit preferences, so please measure yourself or a similar garment that fits you well, or email us if you have additional questions about fit.
We recommend washing in cool water by hand/on a delicate setting with mild soap, and air-drying flat or on a line. This will extend the life of your beloved clothes!
