Lemongrass-Thai Chili Fire Cider Oxymel
Ingredients: Organic raw apple cider vinegar, local lemongrass, organic horseradish, organic ginger, organic yellow onion, local Thai chilies, organic fresh turmeric, organic garlic, kaffir lime leaves, raw local honey.
Fire cider is an apple cider vinegar-based folk remedy that traditionally uses warming roots and herbs to aid digestion, fortify the immune system, and stimulate blood circulate. It's great for flu and cold season. It's common for makers to modify the contents based on a year's harvest highlights. I love shopping at our local Hmong farmers market in Saint Paul on Fridays in the warm months; my blend is inspired by the fresh lemongrass and Thai chilies that I bought there. Add a dab of honey and it becomes what is called an oxymel.
This item is shelf stable and will keep 12-18 months in a dark cabinet. You can mix it with water, tea or juice, or if you are feeling particularly lion-hearted, take it straight up. Serving size: 1 TBS.
